The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus [shall be] the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, [shall be] toward the LORD.
Die las van die woord van die HERE in die land van Hadrag, en Damaskus sal die rusplek daarvan wees: wanneer die oë van die mens, soos van al die stamme van Israel, tot die HERE sal wees.

And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.
En Hamat ook sal by die grens daarvan grens; Tirus, en Sidon, alhoewel dit baie wys is.

And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.
En Tirus het vir haarself ‚'n sterkhede gebou, en silwer soos stof bymekaargemaak, en fyn goud soos die modder van die strate.

Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.
Kyk, die Here sal haar uitdryf, en Hy sal haar mag in die see slaan; en sy sal met vuur verteer word.

Ashkelon shall see [it], and fear; Gaza also [shall see it], and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
Askelon sal dit sien, en vrees; Gaza ook sal dit sien, en baie seer wees; en Ekron; want haar verwagting is beskaamd: en die koning sal van Gaza af omkom, en Askelon sal nie bewoon word nie.

And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
En ‚'n baster sal in Asdod woon, en ek sal die trotsheid van die Filistyne uitroei.

And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, [shall be] for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
En ek sal sy bloed uit sy mond wegneem, en sy gruwels van tussen sy tande: maar hy wat oorbly, selfs hy, sal vir onse God wees, en hy sal wees soos ‚'n goewerneur in Juda, en Ekron soos ‚'n Jebusiet.

And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.
En ek sal ’n kamp om my huis sit vanweë die leër, vanweë hom wat verbygaan, en vanweë hom wat terugkeer: en geen verdrukker sal meer deur hulle heengaan nie: want nou het ek dit met my oë gesien.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he [is] just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Verbly jou grootliks, o dogter van Sion; juig, o dogter van Jérusalem: kyk, jou Koning kom tot jou: Hy is regverdig, en het heil; nederig, en rydende op ’n esel, en op ’n jong esel, die veulen van ’n eselin.

And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion [shall be] from sea [even] to sea, and from the river [even] to the ends of the earth.
En ek sal die strydwa uit Efraim, en die perd uit Jérusalem uitroei, en die gevegsboog sal afgesny word: en Hy sal vrede tot die heidene spreek: en sy heerskappy sal van see tot see wees, en van die rivier selfs tot by die eindes van die aarde.

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein [is] no water.
Wat jou betref ook, deur die bloed van jou verbond het ek jou gevangenes uit die put waarin geen water is nie, uitgestuur.

Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare [that] I will render double unto thee;
Keer tot die vesting, julle gevangenes van hoop: selfs vandag verklaar ek dat ek jou dubbel sal vergoed;

When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
Wanneer ek Juda vir my gespun het, die boog met Efraim gevul het, en jou seuns, o Sion, teen jou seuns, o Griekeland, opgewek het, en jou soos die swaard van ‚'n magtige man gemaak het.

And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
En die HERE sal oor hulle gesien word, en sy pyl sal uitgaan soos die weerlig: en die Here GOD sal die trompet blaas, en sal met dwarrelwinde van die suide gaan.

The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, [and] make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, [and] as the corners of the altar.
Die HERE van leërskare sal hulle beskerm: en hulle sal verslind, en die slingerstene onderwerp; en hulle sal drink, en ’n geraas maak soos deur wyn; en hulle sal gevul word soos bakke, en soos die hoeke van die altaar.

And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for [they shall be as] the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
En die HERE hulle God sal hulle in daardie dag red as die kudde van sy volk: want hulle sal soos die klippe van ‚'n kroon wees, opgelig soos ‚'n banier op sy land.

For how great [is] his goodness, and how great [is] his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
Want hoe groot is sy goedheid, en hoe groot is sy skoonheid! koring sal die jongmanne vrolik maak, en nuwe wyn die maagde.
