Wherefore should the heathen say, Where [is] now their God?
Waarom sou die heidene sê, Waar is nou hulle God?

But our God [is] in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
Maar onse God is in die hemele: Hy het gedoen wat Hy behae gehad het.
4
Their idols [are] silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
Hulle afgode is silwer en goud, die werk van mensehande.
5
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
Hulle het monde, maar hulle spreek nie: oë het hulle, maar hulle sien nie:
6
They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
Hulle het ore, maar hulle hoor nie: neuse het hulle, maar hulle ruik nie:
7
They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
Hulle het hande, maar hulle vat nie: voete het hulle, maar hulle loop nie: en hulle praat nie deur hulle keel nie.

They that make them are like unto them; [so is] every one that trusteth in them.
Dié wat hulle maak, is soos hulle; so is elkeen wat op hulle vertrou.

O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he [is] their help and their shield.
O Israel, vertrou op die HERE: Hy is hulle hulp en hulle skild.
10
O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he [is] their help and their shield.
O huis van Aäron, vertrou op die HERE: Hy is hulle hulp en hulle skild.
11
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he [is] their help and their shield.
Julle wat die HERE vrees, vertrou op die HERE: Hy is hulle hulp en hulle skild.
12
The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless [us]; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
Die HERE het ons onthou: Hy sal seën; Hy sal die huis van Israel seën; Hy sal die huis van Aäron seën.
13
He will bless them that fear the LORD, [both] small and great.
Hy sal dié seën wat die HERE vrees, beide klein en groot.
14
The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
Die HERE sal julle meer en meer vermeerder, julle en julle kinders.
15
Ye [are] blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.
Julle is geseënd van die HERE wat die hemel en die aarde gemaak het.
16
The heaven, [even] the heavens, [are] the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Die hemel, selfs die hemele, is die HERE s‚'n: maar die aarde het Hy aan die kinders van die mens gegee.
17
The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
Die dooies prys nie die HERE nie, en nie enigeen wat in stilte afdaal nie.
18
But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.
Maar ons sal die HERE seën van hierdie tyd af en vir ewig. Prys die HERE.
