And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
En kyk, hulle het ’n verlamde man by Hom gebring, wat op ’n bed lê: en Jesus, toe Hy hulle geloof sien, het tot die verlamde gesê, Seun, wees goedsmoeds; jou sondes is jou vergewe.

And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth.
En kyk, sekere van die skrifgeleerdes het by hulleself gesê, Hierdie man laster.

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
En Jesus, wat hulle gedagtes ken, het gesê, Waarom bedink julle boosheid in julle harte?

For whether is easier, to say, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
Want wat is makliker om te sê, Jou sondes is jou vergewe; of om te sê, Staan op, en wandel?

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
Maar dat julle mag weet dat die Seun van die mens mag het op die aarde om sondes te vergewe, (toe het Hy tot die verlamde gesê,) Staan op, neem jou bed op, en gaan na jou huis.

And he arose, and departed to his house.
En hy het opgestaan, en na sy huis gegaan.

But when the multitudes saw [it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
Maar toe die skare dit sien, het hulle hulle verwonder, en God verheerlik, wat sulke mag aan die mense gegee het.

And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
En toe Jesus daarvandaan verder gegaan het, het Hy ’n man sien sit by die tolhuis, met die naam van Matthéüs, en Hy het tot hom gesê, Volg My. En hy het opgestaan, en Hom gevolg.

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
En dit het gebeur, toe Jesus in die huis by die tafel gesit het, dat kyk, baie tollenaars en sondaars gekom en by die tafel saam met Hom en sy dissipels gesit het.

And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
En toe die Fariseërs dit sien, het hulle tot sy dissipels gesê, Waarom eet julle Meester met tollenaars en sondaars?

But when Jesus heard [that], he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
Maar toe Jesus dit hoor, het Hy tot hulle gesê, Dié wat gesond is, het nie die geneesheer nodig nie, maar dié wat siek is.

But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Maar gaan en leer wat dit beteken, Ek wil barmhartigheid hê, en nie offer nie: want ek is nie gekom om regverdiges te roep nie, maar sondaars tot bekering.

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
Toe het die dissipels van Johannes by Hom gekom, sê, Waarom vas ons en die Fariseërs baie, maar u dissipels vas nie?

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
En Jesus het tot hulle gesê, Kan die kinders van die bruidskamer treur, solank die bruidegom by hulle is? maar die dae sal kom, wanneer die bruidegom van hulle weggeneem sal word, en dan sal hulle vas.

No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
Niemand sit ‚'n lap van nuwe lap op ‚'n ou kleed nie, want dit wat daaraan sit, skeur van die kleed af, en die skeur word erger.

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
En die mens sit ook nie nuwe wyn in ou leersakke nie; anders bars die sakke, en die wyn loop uit, en die sakke vergaan: maar hulle sit nuwe wyn in nuwe sakke, en altwee word bewaar.

While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Terwyl Hy hierdie dinge tot hulle gespreek het, kyk, daar het ’n sekere owerste gekom, en Hom aanbid, sê, My dogter is nou net dood: maar kom en lê u hand op haar, en sy sal lewe.

And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
En Jesus het opgestaan, en Hom gevolg, en so ook sy dissipels.

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:
En kyk, ‚'n vrou, wat twaalf jaar lank aan ‚'n bloedvloeiing gely het, het van agter gekom, en die soom van sy kleed aangeraak:
21
For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
Want sy het by haarself gesê, As ek net sy kleed mag aanraak, sal ek gesond word.
22
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Maar Jesus het Hom omgedraai, en toe Hy haar sien, het Hy gesê, Dogter, wees goedsmoeds; jou geloof het jou gered. En die vrou is van daardie uur af gesond.

And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
En toe Jesus in die owerste se huis kom, en die fluitspelers sien, en die mense wat ‚'n geraas maak,

He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
Het Hy tot hulle gesê, Maak plek: want die dogtertjie is nie dood nie, maar slaap. En hulle het Hom uitgelag.
25
But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
Maar toe die mense uitgewerp is, het Hy in gegaan, en haar hand gegryp, en die dogtertjie het opgestaan.

And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
En die roem hiervan het deur die hele land gegaan.

And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.
En toe Jesus daarvandaan verder gegaan het, het twee blindes Hom gevolg, wat uitgeroep en gesê het, Seun van Dawid, wees ons barmhartig!

And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
En toe Hy in die huis gekom het, het die blindes by Hom gekom: en Jesus het tot hulle gesê, Glo julle dat ek dit kan doen? Hulle het tot Hom gesê, Ja, Here.

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Toe het Hy hulle oë aangeraak, sê, Volgens julle geloof laat dit vir julle wees.

And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See [that] no man know [it].
En hulle oë is oopgemaak; en Jesus het hulle streng beveel, sê, Kyk dat niemand dit weet nie.

But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Maar hulle, toe hulle uitgegaan het, het Hom in die hele land bekend gemaak.

As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
Toe hulle uitgegaan het, kyk, hulle het ‚'n stom mens by Hom gebring wat van ‚'n duiwel besete was.
33
And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
En toe die duiwel uitgedryf is, het die stomme gespreek: en die skare het hulle verwonder, sê, So iets is nog nooit in Israel gesien nie.

But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
Maar die Fariseërs het gesê, Hy dryf die duiwels uit deur die owerste van die duiwels.

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
En Jesus het deur al die stede en dorpe gegaan, en in hulle sinagoges geleer, en die evangelie van die koninkryk verkondig, en elke siekte en elke kwaal onder die volk genees.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Maar toe Hy die skare sien, is Hy met ontferming oor hulle bewoë, omdat hulle vermoeid en verstrooi was, soos skape wat geen herder het nie.
37
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few;
Toe het Hy tot sy dissipels gesê, Die oes is waarlik groot, maar die arbeiders is min;
38
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Bid daarom die Here van die oes, dat Hy arbeiders in sy oes uitstuur.
