When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
En kyk, daar het ’n melaatse gekom en Hom aanbid, sê, Here, as U wil, kan U my reinig.

And Jesus put forth [his] hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
En Jesus het sy hand uitgestrek, en hom aangeraak, sê, Ek wil; wees rein. En dadelik is sy melaatsheid gereinig.

And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
En Jesus het tot hom gesê, Kyk dat jy dit aan niemand sê nie; maar gaan jou weg, toon jouself aan die priester, en offer die gawe wat Moses beveel het, tot ’n getuienis vir hulle.

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
En toe Jesus in Kapérnaüm ingegaan het, het daar ’n hoofman oor honderd by Hom gekom, wat Hom gesmeek het,

And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
En gesê, Here, my dienaar lê by die huis verlam, en is swaar gepynig.

And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
En Jesus het tot hom gesê, Ek sal kom en hom genees.

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Die hoofman oor honderd het geantwoord en gesê, Here, ek is nie waardig dat U onder my dak inkom nie: maar spreek net ’n woord, en my dienaar sal genees word.

For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this [man], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it].
Want ek is self ook ’n man onder gesag, met soldate onder my: en ek sê tot hierdie een, Gaan, en hy gaan; en tot ’n ander, Kom, en hy kom; en tot my dienaar, Doen dit, en hy doen dit.

When Jesus heard [it], he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Toe Jesus dit gehoor het, het Hy Hom verwonder, en tot hulle gesê wat gevolg het, Voorwaar sê ek vir julle, Ek het nie so ’n groot geloof, nee, nie in Israel gevind nie.

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
En ek sê vir julle, Dat baie sal kom van die ooste en weste, en saam met Abraham, en Isak, en Jakob in die koninkryk van die hemele sit.

But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Maar die kinders van die koninkryk sal uitgeworp word in die buitenste duisternis: daar sal geween wees en gekners van tande.

And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
En Jesus het tot die hoofman oor honderd gesê, Gaan jou weg; en soos jy geglo het, so laat dit vir jou wees. En sy dienaar is in daardie selfde uur genees.

And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
En toe Jesus in Petrus se huis gekom het, het Hy sy skoonmoeder sien lê, en siek van die koors.

And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
En Hy het haar hand aangeraak, en die koors het haar verlaat: en sy het opgestaan, en hulle bedien.

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:
Toe dit aand geword het, het hulle baie wat van duiwels besete was, by Hom gebring: en Hy het die geeste met ‚'n woord uitgedryf, en almal genees wat siek was:

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.
Dat dit vervul mag word wat deur Jesaja die profeet gespreek is, sê, Hy self het ons swakhede geneem, en ons siektes gedra.

Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
Nou toe Jesus groot skare om Hom sien, het Hy bevel gegee om na die oorkant te gaan.

And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
En ’n sekere skrifgeleerde het gekom, en tot Hom gesê, Meester, ek sal U volg waar U ook al heengaan.

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.
En Jesus het tot hom gesê, Die jakkalse het gate, en die voëls van die hemel neste; maar die Seun van die mens het nie waar Hy sy hoof kan neerlê nie.

And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
En ’n ander van sy dissipels het tot Hom gesê, Here, laat my eers gaan en my vader begrawe.

But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
Maar Jesus het tot hom gesê, Volg My; en laat die dooies hulle dooies begrawe.

And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
En toe Hy in ‚'n skip gegaan het, het sy dissipels Hom gevolg.
24
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
En kyk, daar het ‚'n groot storm op die see ontstaan, sodat die skip deur die golwe bedek is: maar Hy het geslaap.
25
And his disciples came to [him], and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
En sy dissipels het by Hom gekom, en Hom wakker gemaak, sê, Here, red ons: ons vergaan.

And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
En Hy het tot hulle gesê, Waarom is julle bevrees, o julle kleingelowiges? Toe het Hy opgestaan, en die winde en die see bestraf; en daar was ’n groot stilte.

But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
Maar die mense het hulle verwonder, sê, Watter soort mens is dit, dat selfs die winde en die see Hom gehoorsaam is?

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
En toe Hy aan die oorkant gekom het in die land van die Gergesene, het daar twee wat van duiwels besete was, Hom ontmoet, wat uit die grafte gekom het, baie woedend, sodat niemand deur daardie pad kon gaan nie.

And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
En kyk, hulle het uitgeroep, sê, Wat het ons met U te doen, Jesus, U Seun van God? is U hier gekom om ons voor die tyd te pynig?

And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
En daar was ‚'n bietjie ver van hulle ‚'n trop baie varke aan die wei.

So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
So het die duiwels Hom gesmeek, sê, As U ons uitdryf, laat ons in die trop varke ingaan.

And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
En Hy het tot hulle gesê, Gaan. En toe hulle uitgegaan het, het hulle in die trop varke gegaan: en kyk, die hele trop varke het van die steilte af in die see gehardloop, en in die waters omgekom.

And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
En dié wat hulle opgepas het, het gevlug, en in die stad gegaan, en alles vertel, en wat die besetenes oorgekom het.

And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought [him] that he would depart out of their coasts.
En kyk, die hele stad het uitgegaan om Jesus te ontmoet: en toe hulle Hom gesien het, het hulle Hom gesmeek dat Hy uit hulle grense sou vertrek.
