And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, [and] in the fifth month, [that] Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which [was] of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
En dit het gebeur in dieselfde jaar, in die begin van die regering van Sedekía koning van Juda, in die vierde jaar, en in die vyfde maand, dat Hananja die seun van Azur die profeet, wat van Gíbeon was, in die huis van die HERE in die teenwoordigheid van die priesters en van die hele volk tot my gespreek het, sê,

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
So spreek die HERE van leërskare, die God van Israel, sê, Ek het die juk van die koning van Babel verbreek.

Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD’S house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
Binne twee volle jare sal ek al die vate van die huis van die HERE in hierdie plek terugbring, wat Nebukadrésar koning van Babel uit hierdie plek geneem het, en na Babel gebring het:

And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, saith the LORD: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
En ek sal Jekonja die seun van Jójakim koning van Juda, met al die weggevoerde van Juda, wat na Babel gegaan het, in hierdie plek terugbring, sê die HERE: want ek sal die juk van die koning van Babel verbreek.

Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the LORD,
Toe het die profeet Jeremia tot die profeet Hananja gespreek in die teenwoordigheid van die priesters, en in die teenwoordigheid van die hele volk wat in die huis van die HERE gestaan het,

Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the LORD do so: the LORD perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD’S house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place.
Selfs het die profeet Jeremia gesê, Amen: die HERE doen so: die HERE vervul jou woorde wat jy geprofeteer het, om die vate van die huis van die HERE, en al die wat weggevoer is, uit Babel in hierdie plek terug te bring.

Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people;
Nogtans hoor nou hierdie woord wat ek in jou ore, en in die ore van die hele volk spreek;
8
The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
Die profete wat voor my en voor jou van ouds af was, het teen baie lande, en teen groot koninkryke, van oorlog, en van kwaad, en van pes geprofeteer.

The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, [then] shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
Die profeet wat van vrede profeteer, wanneer die woord van die profeet uitkom, dan sal die profeet bekend word, dat die HERE hom in waarheid gestuur het.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and brake it.
Toe het die profeet Hananja die juk van die profeet Jeremia se nek afgeneem, en dit verbreek.

And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
En Hananja het in die teenwoordigheid van die hele volk gespreek, sê, So sê die HERE; Selfs so sal ek die juk van Nebukadrésar koning van Babel binne die ruimte van twee volle jare van die nek van al die nasies afbreek. En die profeet Jeremia het sy weg gegaan.

Then the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah [the prophet], after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
Toe het die woord van die HERE tot Jeremia gekom, nadat die profeet Hananja die juk van die nek van die profeet Jeremia afgebreek het, sê,

Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.
Gaan en sê tot Hananja, sê, So sê die HERE; Jy het die jukke van hout verbreek; maar jy sal vir hulle jukke van yster maak.

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.
Want so sê die HERE van leërskare, die God van Israel; Ek het ’n juk van yster op die nek van al hierdie nasies gelê, dat hulle Nebukadrésar koning van Babel mag dien; en hulle sal hom dien: en ek het hom ook die diere van die veld gegee.

Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
Toe het die profeet Jeremia tot die profeet Hananja gesê, Hoor nou, Hananja; Die HERE het jou nie gestuur nie; maar jy maak hierdie volk op ’n leuen vertrou.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
Daarom so sê die HERE; Kyk, ek sal jou van die aangesig van die aarde af wegneem: hierdie jaar sal jy sterwe, omdat jy opstand teen die HERE geleer het.
17
So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
So het die profeet Hananja in dieselfde jaar in die sewende maand gesterwe.
