1
Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, [yet] my mind [could] not [be] toward this people: cast [them] out of my sight, and let them go forth.
Toe het die HERE tot my gesê, Al sou Moses en Samuel voor My staan, tog sou my gemoed nie na hierdie volk wees nie: dryf hulle uit van my aangesig, en laat hulle uitgaan.

And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as [are] for death, to death; and such as [are] for the sword, to the sword; and such as [are] for the famine, to the famine; and such as [are] for the captivity, to the captivity.
En dit sal gebeur, as hulle tot jou sê, Waarheen sal ons uitgaan? dan sal jy tot hulle sê, So sê die HERE; Dié wat tot die dood is, tot die dood; en dié wat tot die swaard is, tot die swaard; en dié wat tot die hongersnood is, tot die hongersnood; en dié wat tot die gevangenisskap is, tot die gevangenisskap.

And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
En ek sal vier soorte oor hulle aanstel, sê die HERE: die swaard om te dood, en die honde om te skeur, en die voëls van die hemel, en die diere van die aarde, om te verteer en te vernietig.

And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for [that] which he did in Jerusalem.
En ek sal hulle oorgee om verwyder te word in al die koninkryke van die aarde, vanweë Manasse die seun van Hiskía koning van Juda, om dit wat hy in Jérusalem gedoen het.

For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?
Want wie sal medelye met jou hê, o Jérusalem? of wie sal vir jou treur? of wie sal omdraai om na jou welstand te vra?

Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.
Jy het My verlaat, sê die HERE, jy is agteruitgegaan: daarom sal ek my hand teen jou uitsteek, en jou vernietig; ek is moeg van berou.

And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave [them] of children, I will destroy my people, [since] they return not from their ways.
En ek sal hulle met ’n wan in die poorte van die land waan; ek sal my volk kinderloos maak, ek sal hulle vernietig; aangesien hulle nie van hulle weë teruggekeer het nie.

Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused [him] to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
Hulle weduwees is vir My vermeerder bo die sand van die see: ek het teen hulle, teen die moeder van die jongmanne, ‚'n verwoester op die middag gebring: ek het hom skielik daaroor laat val, en verskrikkinge op die stad.

She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while [it was] yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
Sy wat sewe gebaar het, het flou geword: sy het haar siel uitgeblaas; haar son is ondergegaan terwyl dit nog dag was: sy is beskaamd en verleë: en die oorblyfsel van hulle sal ek aan die swaard oorgee voor hulle vyande, sê die HERE.

Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; [yet] every one of them doth curse me.
Wee my, my moeder, dat jy my gebaar het, ‚'n man van twis en ‚'n man van stryd vir die hele aarde! ek het nie uitgeleen op rente nie, en hulle het nie aan my uitgeleen nie; tog vervloek elkeen my.

The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee [well] in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
Die HERE het gesê, Voorwaar dit sal goed met jou oorblyfsel gaan; voorwaar ek sal die vyand laat smeek in die tyd van onheil en in die tyd van benoudheid.

Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
Sal yster die noordelike yster en die koper verbreek?

Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and [that] for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.
Jou substansie en jou skatte sal ek sonder prys tot ‚'n buit gee, en dit vir al jou sondes, selfs in al jou grense.
14
And I will make [thee] to pass with thine enemies into a land [which] thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, [which] shall burn upon you.
En ek sal jou met jou vyande in ‚'n land laat oorgaan wat jy nie ken nie: want ‚'n vuur is in my toorn aangesteek, wat op julle sal brand.

O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.
O HERE, U ken: onthou my, en besoek my, en wreek my op my vervolgers; neem my nie weg in u lankmoedigheid nie: weet dat ek om u ontwil smaadheid dra.

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
U woorde is gevind, en ek het hulle geëet; en u woord was vir my die vreugde en blydskap van my hart: want ek is by u Naam genoem, o HERE God van leërskare.

I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
Ek het nie in die vergadering van die spotters gesit nie, en ek het nie juig nie; ek het alleen gesit vanweë u hand: want U het my met verontwaardiging gevul.
18
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, [which] refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, [and as] waters [that] fail?
Waarom is my smart voortdurend, en my wond ongeneeslik, wat weier om genees te word? sal U vir my heeltemal soos ‚'n leuenaar wees, en soos waters wat misluk?

Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, [and] thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.
Daarom so sê die HERE, As jy terugkeer, dan sal ek jou terugbring, en jy sal voor My staan: en as jy die kosbare van die veragtelike uitneem, sal jy soos my mond wees: laat hulle tot jou terugkeer; maar keer jy nie tot hulle terug nie.

And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I [am] with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
En ek sal jou vir hierdie volk ’n versterkte koper muur maak: en hulle sal teen jou veg, maar hulle sal nie teen jou seëvier nie: want ek is met jou om jou te red en jou te verlos, sê die HERE.
21
And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.
En ek sal jou uit die hand van die boosdoeners verlos, en ek sal jou uit die hand van die vreeslikes verlos.
