1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;
Die Gees van die Here GOD is op My; omdat die HERE My gesalf het om goeie tyding aan die nederiges te bring; Hy het My gestuur om die gebrokenes van hart te verbind, om vryheid uit te roep aan die gevangenes, en die opening van die gevangenis aan dié wat gebind is;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Om die aangename jaar van die HERE uit te roep, en die dag van wraak van onse God; om al die treurendes te troos;

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Om aan dié wat in Sion treur, te gee skoonheid vir as, die olie van vreugde vir rou, die kleed van lof vir die gees van swaarheid; dat hulle genoem mag word bome van geregtigheid, die plant van die HERE, dat Hy verheerlik mag word.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
En hulle sal die ou verwoeste plekke bou, hulle sal die voormalige verwoestinge oprig, en hulle sal die verwoeste stede herstel, die verwoestinge van baie geslagte.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien [shall be] your plowmen and your vinedressers.
En vreemdelinge sal staan en julle troppe wei, en die seuns van die vreemdeling sal julle landbouers en julle wingerdwerkers wees.

But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: [men] shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Maar julle sal genoem word die priesters van die HERE: manne sal julle noem die dienaars van onse God: julle sal die rykdom van die heidene eet, en in hulle heerlikheid sal julle roem.

For your shame [ye shall have] double; and [for] confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Vir julle skaamte sal julle dubbel hê; en vir verwarring sal hulle juig in hulle deel: daarom in hulle land sal hulle die dubbele besit; ewige vreugde sal vir hulle wees.

For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Want ek die HERE het oordeel lief, ek haat roof vir brandoffer; en ek sal hulle werk in waarheid gee, en ek sal ‚'n ewige verbond met hulle maak.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they [are] the seed [which] the LORD hath blessed.
En hulle saad sal bekend wees onder die heidene, en hulle nageslag onder die volk: almal wat hulle sien, sal hulle erken, dat hulle die saad is wat die HERE geseën het.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [himself] with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth [herself] with her jewels.
Ek sal grootliks juig in die HERE, my siel sal vrolik wees in my God; want Hy het my met die klere van heil beklee, Hy het my met die mantel van geregtigheid omgord, soos ‚'n bruidegom homself versier met sierades, en soos ‚'n bruid haarself met haar juwele versier.

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
Want soos die aarde haar bot voortbring, en soos die tuin dit wat daarin gesaai is, laat uitspruit; so sal die Here GOD geregtigheid en lof laat uitspruit voor al die nasies.
