In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
In die jaar dat Tartan na Asdod gekom het, (toe Sargon die koning van Assirië hom gestuur het,) en teen Asdod geveg en dit ingeneem het;

At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
In dieselfde tyd het die HERE deur Jesaja die seun van Amos gespreek, sê, Gaan, en trek die sakdoek van jou lendene af, en trek jou skoen van jou voet af. En hy het so gedoen, en naak en kaalvoet gewandel.

And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years [for] a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
En die HERE het gesê, Soos my dienaar Jesaja naak en kaalvoet gewandel het drie jaar lank vir ’n teken en wonder teen Egipte en teen Etiopië;

So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with [their] buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
So sal die koning van Assirië die Egiptenaars gevangenes, en die Etiopiërs gevangenes, weglei, jongmanne en bejaardes, naak en kaalvoet, selfs met hulle agterdele ontbloot, tot die skaamte van Egipte.

And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
En hulle sal bang wees en beskaamd word vanweë Etiopië hulle verwagting, en vanweë Egipte hulle roem.

And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such [is] our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
En die inwoner van hierdie eiland sal in daardie dag sê, Kyk, so is dit met ons verwagting, waarheen ons gevlug het vir hulp om verlos te word van die koning van Assirië: en hoe sal ons ontvlug?
