1
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, [even] to Horeb.
Nou het Moses die kudde van Jetro sy skoonvader, die priester van Midian, opgepas: en hy het die kudde agter die wildernis aan gelei, en by die berg van God, by Horeb, gekom.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed.
En die engel van die HERE het aan hom verskyn in ‚'n vlam van vuur uit die midde van ‚'n bos: en hy het gekyk, en kyk, die bos brand met vuur, en die bos is nie verteer nie.

And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
En Moses het gesê, Ek sal nou wegdraai, en hierdie groot gesig sien, waarom die bos nie brand nie.

And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I.
En toe die HERE sien dat hy wegdraai om te sien, het God hom uit die midde van die bos geroep, en gesê, Moses, Moses. En hy het gesê, Hier is ek.

And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest [is] holy ground.
En Hy het gesê, Moenie nader kom nie: trek jou skoene van jou voete af, want die plek waarop jy staan, is heilige grond.

Moreover he said, I [am] the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
Boonop het Hy gesê, Ek is die God van jou vader, die God van Abraham, die God van Isak, en die God van Jakob. En Moses het sy aangesig verberg; want hy was bevrees om na God te kyk.

And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which [are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
En die HERE het gesê, Ek het sekerlik die ellende van my volk wat in Egipte is, gesien, en ek het hulle geroep gehoor vanweë hulle drywers; want ek ken hulle smarte;

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
En ek is afgekom om hulle uit die hand van die Egiptenaars te red, en om hulle uit daardie land op te bring na ’n goeie en groot land, na ’n land wat oorvloei van melk en heuning; na die plek van die Kanaäniete, en die Hetiete, en die Amoriete, en die Feresiete, en die Hewiete, en die Jebusiete.

Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
Nou dan, kyk, die geroep van die kinders van Israel het tot My gekom: en ek het ook die verdrukking gesien waarmee die Egiptenaars hulle verdruk.

Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Kom dan nou, en ek sal jou na Farao stuur, dat jy my volk, die kinders van Israel, uit Egipte mag uitlei.

And Moses said unto God, Who [am] I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
En Moses het tot God gesê, Wie is ek, dat ek na Farao sou gaan, en dat ek die kinders van Israel uit Egipte sou uitlei?
12
And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
En Hy het gesê, Sekerlik sal Ek met jou wees; en dit sal vir jou ’n teken wees dat Ek jou gestuur het: Wanneer jy die volk uit Egipte uitgelei het, sal julle God op hierdie berg dien.

And Moses said unto God, Behold, [when] I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What [is] his name? what shall I say unto them?
En Moses het tot God gesê, Kyk, wanneer ek by die kinders van Israel kom, en tot hulle sê, Die God van julle vaders het my na julle gestuur; en hulle tot my sê, Wat is sy Naam? wat moet ek tot hulle sê?

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
En God het tot Moses gesê, EK IS WAT EK IS: en Hy het gesê, So moet jy tot die kinders van Israel sê, EK IS het my na julle gestuur.

And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations.
En God het verder tot Moses gesê, So moet jy tot die kinders van Israel sê, Die HERE God van julle vaders, die God van Abraham, die God van Isak, en die God van Jakob, het my na julle gestuur: dit is my Naam tot in ewigheid, en dit is my gedenknaam van geslag tot geslag.

Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and [seen] that which is done to you in Egypt:
Gaan, en versamel die ouderlinge van Israel bymekaar, en sê tot hulle, Die HERE God van julle vaders, die God van Abraham, van Isak, en van Jakob, het aan my verskyn, en gesê, Ek het julle sekerlik besoek, en gesien wat aan julle in Egipte gedoen word:

And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
En ek het gesê, Ek sal julle uit die ellende van Egipte opbring na die land van die Kanaäniete, en die Hetiete, en die Amoriete, en die Feresiete, en die Hewiete, en die Jebusiete, na ’n land wat oorvloei van melk en heuning.

And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
En hulle sal na jou stem luister: en jy moet saam met die ouderlinge van Israel na die koning van Egipte gaan, en julle moet tot hom sê, Die HERE God van die Hebreërs het ons ontmoet: en nou laat ons tog gaan, drie dae se pad in die wildernis, dat ons mag offer aan die HERE onse God.

And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
En ek is seker dat die koning van Egipte julle nie sal laat gaan nie, nee, nie selfs deur ‚'n magtige hand nie.
20
And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
En ek sal my hand uitsteek, en Egipte slaan met al my wonders wat ek in die midde daarvan sal doen: en daarna sal hy julle laat gaan.
21
And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:
En ek sal hierdie volk guns gee in die oë van die Egiptenaars: en dit sal gebeur, wanneer julle gaan, dat julle nie leeg sal gaan nie:
22
But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put [them] upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
Maar elke vrou sal van haar buurvrou, en van haar wat in haar huis vertoef, silwer juwele, en goud juwele, en klere vra: en julle sal dit op julle seuns en op julle dogters sit; en julle sal die Egiptenaars beroof.
