Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God [any] bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, [or] any evilfavouredness: for that [is] an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Jy mag geen os of skaap aan die HERE jou God offer waarin ‚'n gebrek is, of enige slegte ding nie: want dit is ‚'n gruwel vir die HERE jou God.

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
As daar onder jou, binne enige van jou poorte wat die HERE jou God jou gee, ’n man of vrou gevind word, wat doen wat sleg is in die oë van die HERE jou God, deur sy verbond te oortree,

And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
En heengegaan het, en ander gode gedien het, en hulle aangebid het, of die son, of die maan, of enige van die leër van die hemel, wat ek nie beveel het nie;

And it be told thee, and thou hast heard [of it], and inquired diligently, and, behold, [it be] true, [and] the thing certain, [that] such abomination is wrought in Israel:
En dit word jou vertel, en jy het dit gehoor, en ywerig ondersoek, en kyk, dit is waar, en die saak is seker, dat so ‚'n gruwel in Israel gedoen is:

Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, [even] that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
Dan moet jy daardie man of daardie vrou, wat hierdie boosheid gedoen het, uitbring na jou poorte, selfs daardie man of daardie vrou, en jy moet hulle met klippe stenig, totdat hulle sterwe.

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; [but] at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
Op die mond van twee getuies, of drie getuies, moet hy wat die dood waardig is, gedood word; maar op die mond van een getuie mag hy nie gedood word nie.

The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
Die hand van die getuies moet die eerste teen hom wees om hom dood te maak, en daarna die hand van die hele volk. So moet jy die boosheid uit jou midde uitroei.
8
If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, [being] matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;
As daar ‚'n saak vir jou te moeilik is in die oordeel, tussen bloed en bloed, tussen regsaak en regsaak, en tussen slag en slag, synde sake van twis binne jou poorte: dan moet jy opstaan, en opgaan na die plek wat die HERE jou God sal uitkies;

And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:
En jy moet kom by die priesters die Leviete, en by die regter wat in daardie dae daar sal wees, en navraag doen; en hulle moet jou die sin van die oordeel verklaar:

And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:
En jy moet doen volgens die sin van die oordeel, wat hulle jou verklaar uit daardie plek wat die HERE sal uitkies; en jy moet sorgvuldig doen volgens alles wat hulle jou leer:

According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, [to] the right hand, nor [to] the left.
Volgens die sin van die wet wat hulle jou leer, en volgens die oordeel wat hulle jou sê, moet jy doen: jy mag nie regs of links afwyk van die sin wat hulle jou verklaar nie.

And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.
En die man wat vermetel handel, en nie wil luister na die priester wat daar staan om die HERE jou God te dien nie, of na die regter nie, selfs daardie man moet sterwe: en jy moet die boosheid uit Israel uitroei.

And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
En die hele volk moet dit hoor, en vrees, en nie meer vermetel handel nie.
14
When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that [are] about me;
Wanneer jy in die land kom wat die HERE jou God jou gee, en dit in besit neem, en daarin woon, en sê, Ek wil ’n koning oor my aanstel soos al die nasies wat rondom my is;

Thou shalt in any wise set [him] king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: [one] from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which [is] not thy brother.
Dan moet jy in alle opsigte ‚'n koning oor jou aanstel, wat die HERE jou God sal uitkies: een uit die midde van jou broers moet jy as koning oor jou aanstel: jy mag geen vreemdeling oor jou aanstel, wat nie jou broer is nie.
16
But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
Maar hy mag nie baie perde vir hom vermenigvuldig nie, en hy mag die volk nie na Egipte terugbring om die getal van perde te vermeerder nie: aangesien die HERE tot julle gesê het, Julle mag hierna nie meer daardie pad terugkeer nie.

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
Hy mag ook nie baie vroue vir hom vermenigvuldig nie, dat sy hart nie afwyk nie: en hy mag ook nie vir hom silwer en goud baie vermeerder nie.

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of [that which is] before the priests the Levites:
En dit sal gebeur, wanneer hy op die troon van sy koninkryk sit, dat hy vir hom ’n afskrif van hierdie wet moet skrywe in ’n boek uit dié wat voor die priesters die Leviete is:

And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
En dit moet by hom wees, en hy moet daarin lees al die dae van sy lewe: dat hy mag leer om die HERE sy God te vrees, om al die woorde van hierdie wet en hierdie insettinge te onderhou, om dit te doen:

That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, [to] the right hand, or [to] the left: to the end that he may prolong [his] days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
Dat sy hart nie bo sy broers verhef word nie, en dat hy nie regs of links afwyk van die gebod nie: dat hy sy dae mag verleng in sy koninkryk, hy, en sy kinders, in die midde van Israel.
