1
These [are] the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
Dit is die insettinge en oordele, wat julle moet sorgvuldig doen in die land wat die HERE, die God van jou vaders, jou gee om te besit, al die dae dat julle op die aarde lewe.
2
Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
Julle moet al die plekke heeltemal vernietig, waar die nasies wat julle sal besit, hulle gode gedien het, op die hoë berge, en op die heuwels, en onder elke groen boom:

And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
En julle moet hulle altare afbreek, en hulle beelde stukkend breek, en hulle bosse met vuur verbrand; en julle moet die gesnede beelde van hulle gode omkap; en die name van hulle uit daardie plek uitwis.

Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.
Julle mag nie so teenoor die HERE julle God doen nie.
5
But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, [even] unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
Maar na die plek wat die HERE julle God uit al julle stamme sal uitkies om sy Naam daar te sit, selfs tot sy woning moet julle soek, en daarheen moet julle kom:
6
And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
En daarheen moet julle julle brandoffers bring, en julle slagoffers, en julle tiendes, en hefoffers van julle hand, en julle geloftes, en julle vrywillige offers, en die eersgeborenes van julle beeste en van julle skape:

And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
En daar moet julle eet voor die HERE julle God, en julle moet vrolik wees in alles waarin julle julle hand uitsteek, julle en julle huisgesinne, waarin die HERE jou God jou geseën het.

Ye shall not do after all [the things] that we do here this day, every man whatsoever [is] right in his own eyes.
Julle mag nie doen volgens al die dinge wat ons vandag hier doen nie, elkeen alles wat reg is in sy eie oë.
9
For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.
Want julle is nog nie gekom by die rus en by die erfenis, wat die HERE julle God julle gee nie.
10
But [when] ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and [when] he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Maar wanneer julle oor die Jordaan trek, en in die land woon wat die HERE julle God julle laat erf, en wanneer Hy julle rus gee van al julle vyande rondom, sodat julle veilig woon;

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
Dan moet daar ‚'n plek wees wat die HERE julle God sal uitkies om sy Naam daar te laat woon; daarheen moet julle alles bring wat ek julle beveel; julle brandoffers, en julle slagoffers, julle tiendes, en die hefoffer van julle hand, en al julle keurige geloftes wat julle aan die HERE beloof:

And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that [is] within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
En julle moet vrolik wees voor die HERE julle God, julle, en julle seuns, en julle dogters, en julle diensknegte, en julle diensmaagde, en die Leviet wat binne julle poorte is; aangesien hy geen deel of erfenis met julle het nie.

Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:
Neem jou in ag dat jy nie jou brandoffers offer in elke plek wat jy sien nie:
14
But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
Maar in die plek wat die HERE in een van jou stamme sal uitkies, daar moet jy jou brandoffers offer, en daar moet jy alles doen wat ek jou beveel.
15
Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
Nogtans mag jy volgens al die begeerte van jou siel slag en vleis eet, volgens die seën van die HERE jou God wat Hy jou gee in al jou poorte: die onreine en die reine mag daarvan eet, soos van die takbok, en soos van die hert.
16
Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
Net die bloed mag julle nie eet nie; julle moet dit op die aarde uitgiet soos water.
17
Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:
Jy mag nie eet binne jou poorte die tiende van jou koring, of van jou mos, of van jou olie, of die eersgeborenes van jou beeste of van jou skape, of enige van jou geloftes wat jy beloof, of jou vrywillige offers, of hefoffer van jou hand nie:
18
But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that [is] within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
Maar jy moet dit eet voor die HERE jou God in die plek wat die HERE jou God sal uitkies, jy, en jou seun, en jou dogter, en jou dienskneg, en jou diensmaagd, en die Leviet wat binne jou poorte is: en jy moet vrolik wees voor die HERE jou God in alles waarin jy jou hand uitsteek.
19
Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.
Neem jou in ag dat jy die Leviet nie verlaat nie solank as jy op die aarde lewe.
20
When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
Wanneer die HERE jou God jou grens vergroot, soos Hy jou beloof het, en jy sê, Ek wil vleis eet, omdat jou siel begeer om vleis te eet; jy mag vleis eet, volgens al die begeerte van jou siel.
21
If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
As die plek wat die HERE jou God sal uitkies om sy Naam daar te sit, te ver van jou is, dan moet jy van jou beeste en van jou skape slag, wat die HERE jou gegee het, soos ek jou beveel het, en jy mag binne jou poorte eet volgens al die begeerte van jou siel.
22
Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat [of] them alike.
Selfs soos die takbok en die hert geëet word, so moet jy dit eet: die onreine en die reine moet dit saam eet.
23
Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood [is] the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
Net wees seker dat jy die bloed nie eet nie: want die bloed is die lewe; en jy mag die lewe nie saam met die vlees eet nie.
24
Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
Jy mag dit nie eet nie; jy moet dit op die aarde uitgiet soos water.
25
Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do [that which is] right in the sight of the LORD.
Jy mag dit nie eet nie; dat dit met jou goed mag gaan, en met jou kinders na jou, wanneer jy doen wat reg is in die oë van die HERE.
26
Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the LORD shall choose:
Net jou heilige dinge wat jy het, en jou geloftes, moet jy neem, en na die plek gaan wat die HERE sal uitkies:
27
And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.
En jy moet jou brandoffers, die vlees en die bloed, op die altaar van die HERE jou God offer: en die bloed van jou slagoffers moet op die altaar van die HERE jou God uitgegooi word, en jy moet die vlees eet.
28
Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest [that which is] good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.
Neem ag en hoor al hierdie woorde wat ek jou beveel, dat dit met jou goed mag gaan, en met jou kinders na jou vir ewig, wanneer jy doen wat goed en reg is in die oë van die HERE jou God.
29
When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;
Wanneer die HERE jou God die nasies voor jou uit afsny, waarheen jy gaan om hulle te besit, en jy hulle opvolg, en in hulle land woon;
30
Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Neem jou in ag dat jy nie verstrik word deur hulle te volg, nadat hulle voor jou vernietig is nie; en dat jy nie na hulle gode vra, en sê, Hoe het hierdie nasies hulle gode gedien? selfs so sal ek ook doen.
31
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
Jy mag nie so teenoor die HERE jou God doen nie: want elke gruwel aan die HERE, wat Hy haat, het hulle aan hulle gode gedoen; want selfs hulle seuns en hulle dogters het hulle met vuur vir hulle gode verbrand.
32
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Alles wat ek julle beveel, dit moet julle sorgvuldig doen: julle mag niks byvoeg daaraan nie, en julle mag niks daarvan wegneem nie.
