Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height [was] threescore cubits, [and] the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
Nebukadrésar die koning het ’n beeld van goud gemaak, waarvan die hoogte sestig el was, en die breedte daarvan ses el: hy het dit in die vlakte van Dura, in die provinsie van Babel, opgerig.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Toe het Nebukadrésar die koning die vorstes, die goewerneurs, en die kapteins, die regters, die skattegaarders, die raadsmanne, die baljuws, en al die heersers van die provinsies bymekaargeroep, om tot die inwyding van die beeld te kom wat Nebukadrésar die koning opgerig het.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Toe is die vorstes, die goewerneurs, en kapteins, die regters, die skattegaarders, die raadsmanne, die baljuws, en al die heersers van die provinsies bymekaargemaak tot die inwyding van die beeld wat Nebukadrésar die koning opgerig het; en hulle het voor die beeld gestaan wat Nebukadrésar opgerig het.

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
Toe het ‚'n heraut hardop uitgeroep, Aan julle word dit beveel, o volk, nasies, en tale,

[That] at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
Dat wanneer julle die geluid van die horing, fluit, siters, triangel, psalterium, doedoek, en allerhande musiek hoor, julle moet neerval en die goue beeld aanbid wat Nebukadrésar die koning opgerig het:

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
En wie nie neerval en aanbid nie, sal dieselfde uur in die midde van ‚'n brandende vuuroond gegooi word.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down [and] worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Daarom op daardie tyd, toe al die volk die geluid van die horing, fluit, siters, triangel, psalterium, en allerhande musiek gehoor het, het al die volk, die nasies, en die tale neergeval en die goue beeld aanbid wat Nebukadrésar die koning opgerig het.

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
Daarom op daardie tyd het sekere Chaldeërs nader gekom, en die Jode aangekla.

They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
Hulle het gespreek en tot koning Nebukadrésar gesê, o koning, lewe vir ewig.
10
Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
Jy, o koning, het ‚'n bevel gemaak, dat elke mens wat die geluid van die horing, fluit, siters, triangel, psalterium, en doedoek, en allerhande musiek hoor, moet neerval en die goue beeld aanbid:

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, [that] he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
En wie nie neerval en aanbid nie, moet in die midde van ‚'n brandende vuuroond gegooi word.
12
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Daar is sekere Jode wat jy oor die sake van die provinsie van Babel gestel het, Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo; hierdie manne, o koning, het nie ag op jou gegee nie: hulle dien jou gode nie, en aanbid ook nie die goue beeld wat jy opgerig het nie.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in [his] rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
Toe het Nebukadrésar in woede en toorn beveel om Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo te bring. Toe het hulle hierdie manne voor die koning gebring.

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, [Is it] true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
Nebukadrésar het gespreek en tot hulle gesê, Is dit waar, o Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo, dien julle nie my gode nie, en aanbid julle nie die goue beeld wat ek opgerig het nie?

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; [well]: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who [is] that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Nou as julle bereid is dat wanneer julle die geluid van die horing, fluit, siters, triangel, psalterium, en doedoek, en allerhande musiek hoor, julle neerval en die beeld aanbid wat ek gemaak het; goed: maar as julle nie aanbid nie, sal julle dieselfde uur in die midde van ‚'n brandende vuuroond gegooi word; en wie is daardie God wat julle uit my hande sal verlos?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we [are] not careful to answer thee in this matter.
Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo het geantwoord en tot die koning gesê, o Nebukadrésar, ons is nie versorg om jou in hierdie saak te antwoord nie.

If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver [us] out of thine hand, O king.
As dit so is, is ons God wat ons dien, in staat om ons te verlos uit die brandende vuuroond, en Hy sal ons uit jou hand, o koning, verlos.
18
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Maar as nie, laat dit vir jou bekend wees, o koning, dat ons jou gode nie sal dien nie, en ook nie die goue beeld wat jy opgerig het, aanbid nie.
19
Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: [therefore] he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
Toe was Nebukadrésar vol grimmigheid, en die vorm van sy aangesig is teen Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo verander: daarom het hy gespreek, en beveel dat hulle die oond sewe maal meer moet warm maak as dit gewoonlik verhit is.

And he commanded the most mighty men that [were] in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, [and] to cast [them] into the burning fiery furnace.
En hy het die magtigste manne wat in sy leër was, beveel om Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo te bind, en hulle in die brandende vuuroond te gooi.

Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their [other] garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Toe is hierdie manne gebind in hulle jasse, hulle onderklere, en hulle hoede, en hulle ander klere, en in die midde van die brandende vuuroond gegooi.
22
Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Daarom omdat die koning se bevel haastig was, en die oond uitermate warm, het die vlam van die vuur daardie manne doodgeslaan wat Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo opgeneem het.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
En hierdie drie manne, Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo, het in die midde van die brandende vuuroond geval, gebind.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, [and] spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
Toe was koning Nebukadrésar verbaas, en het in haast opgestaan, en gespreek, en tot sy raadsmanne gesê, Het ons nie drie manne gebind in die midde van die vuur gegooi nie? Hulle het geantwoord en tot die koning gesê, Waar is dit, o koning.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Hy het geantwoord en gesê, Kyk, ek sien vier manne los, wat in die midde van die vuur wandel, en hulle het geen letsel nie; en die vorm van die vierde is soos die Seun van God.

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, [and] spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come [hither]. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
Toe het Nebukadrésar nader gekom tot die mond van die brandende vuuroond, en gespreek, en gesê, Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo, julle dienaars van die allerhoogste God, kom uit, en kom hier. Toe het Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo uit die midde van die vuur uitgekom.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellers, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
En die vorstes, goewerneurs, en kapteins, en die koning se raadsmanne, wat bymekaar was, het hierdie manne gesien, aan wie se liggame die vuur geen mag gehad het nie, en op wie se hare nie ‚'n haar geskroei is nie, en ook hulle jasse nie verander is nie, en die reuk van vuur nie op hulle gekom het nie.

[Then] Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed [be] the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
Toe het Nebukadrésar gespreek, en gesê, Geseënd is die God van Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo, wat sy engel gestuur het, en sy dienaars verlos het wat op Hom vertrou het, en die koning se woord verander het, en hulle liggame oorgegee het, dat hulle geen god sou dien of aanbid nie, behalwe hulle eie God.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
Daarom maak ek ’n besluit, Dat elke volk, nasie, en taal, wat enigiets amiss spreek teen die God van Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo, in stukkies gekap word, en hulle huise ’n mishoop gemaak word: omdat daar geen ander God is wat so kan verlos nie.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
Toe het die koning Sadrag, Mesag, en Abednégo in die provinsie van Babel bevorder.
