Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that [are] in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
Hoor hierdie woord, julle koeie van Basan, wat in die berg van Samaría is, wat die armes verdruk, wat die behoeftiges verdruk, wat tot hulle meesters sê, Bring, en laat ons drink.

The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
Die Here GOD het by sy heiligheid gesweer, dat, kyk, die dae sal oor julle kom, dat Hy julle sal wegneem met hake, en julle nageslag met vissershake.

And ye shall go out at the breaches, every [cow at that which is] before her; and ye shall cast [them] into the palace, saith the LORD.
En julle sal by die bresse uitgaan, elkeen reguit voor haar, en julle sal in die paleis gegooi word, sê die HERE.

Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, [and] your tithes after three years:
Kom by Bet-El, en oortree; by Gilgal vermeerder oortreding; en bring julle offers elke môre, en julle tiendes ná drie jaar:

And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim [and] publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
En offer ’n dankoffer met suurdeeg, en verkondig die vrywillige offers, en publiseer dit: want dit behaag julle, o julle kinders van Israel, sê die Here GOD.

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
En ek het ook reinheid van tande in al julle stede gegee, en gebrek aan brood in al julle plekke: tog het julle nie tot My teruggekeer nie, sê die HERE.

And also I have withholden the rain from you, when [there were] yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
En ek het ook die reën van julle weerhou, toe daar nog drie maande tot die oes was: en ek het dit op een stad laat reën, en op ’n ander stad nie laat reën nie: een stuk is bereën, en die stuk waarop dit nie gereën het nie, het verdroog.

So two [or] three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
So het twee of drie stede na een stad gedwaal, om water te drink; maar hulle was nie versadig nie: tog het julle nie tot My teruggekeer nie, sê die HERE.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured [them]: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
Ek het julle geslaan met brandkorrels en met miltsiekte: toe julle tuine en julle wingerde en julle vyebome en julle olyfbome vermeerder het, het die ruspe hulle geëet: tog het julle nie tot My teruggekeer nie, sê die HERE.

I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
Ek het die pes onder julle gestuur na die manier van Egipte: julle jongmanne het ek met die swaard doodgeslaan, en julle perde weggevoer; en ek het die stank van julle kampe in julle neusgange laat opkom: tog het julle nie tot My teruggekeer nie, sê die HERE.

I have overthrown [some] of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
Ek het sommige van julle omvergewerp, soos God Sodom en Gomorra omvergewerp het, en julle was soos ’n vuurbrand uit die brand geruk: tog het julle nie tot My teruggekeer nie, sê die HERE.

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: [and] because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
Daarom sal ek so aan jou doen, o Israel: en omdat ek so aan jou sal doen, berei jou om jou God te ontmoet, o Israel.

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what [is] his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, [is] his name.
Want kyk, Hy wat die berge vorm, en die wind skep, en aan die mens verklaar wat sy gedagte is, wat die môre duisternis maak, en op die hoë plekke van die aarde wandel, die HERE, die God van leërskare, is sy Naam.
